Pau Crespí, general director of Biolinea, together with Francisco Martorell Esteban, president of the ASIMA Foundation, and María Frontera, president of the Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca (FEHM), presented the innovative Dual Vocational Training (FP) courses in Circularity and FP Dual in Environmental Health for the 2024-2025 academic year. Crespí expressed his pride in being able to continue responding to the training needs of the hotel sector. “Beyond the regulated training that existed, we have created a new training path that will give rise to profiles of essential workers to implement circularity plans in the sector. “This initiative not only improves the job prospects of young people, but also strengthens the sustainability and competitiveness of the hotel sector in the Balearic Islands.” Francisco Martorell Esteban highlighted the widespread concern in all sectors due to the lack of qualified personnel. “A clear commitment to training and education is needed. Many difficulties are being seen, as businessmen from different sectors tell us. That is why, as president of ASIMA, I believe so much in preparing qualified people, so that they can provide labor to the entrepreneurs who need it.” For her part, María Frontera stressed the importance of imperceptible but essential maintenance in the hotel sector. “To achieve that comfort so linked to innovation, one more step is required, which is why today HOTECMA takes a giant step, with the first Dual FP training in circularity.” In addition, he thanked the Impulsa Foundation for its collaboration in this project. The Minister of Business, Employment and Energy, Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro, closed the event by highlighting the administration’s commitment to improving competitiveness and training on circularity issues in the tourism and hotel sector. The Dual Vocational Training program in Circularity is innovative and designed to train young people in the implementation and supervision of circular economy plans, addressing a significant gap in existing vocational training. This program, developed in collaboration with the Impulsa Foundation, is structured in several phases that combine theory and practice, ensuring that students acquire skills directly applicable in the work environment. The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, and the Regional Secretary of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue, Catalina Cabrer, also attended the event.
